The Political Prisoners' Network Myanmar (PPNM) claimed that a total of 17 prisoners including political prisoners from Pyapon Prison in Pyapon township in Ayeyarwady were injured after the prison authorities opened fire at them at about 5 pm on March 1.

 

The attack occurred when military trucks entered after gunfire sounds were heard inside the prison.

 

A parcel sent from outside for the prisoners have not been accepted by the prison authorities this morning, triggering the suppression by the junta forces.

 

In addition, PPNM said the political prisoners are also being inspected by the  forces.
