A military court handed a life sentence to student leader Kaung Satt Paing, a student who's in charge of the ground operation of North Okkalapa Township Students' Union of All Burma Federation of Student Union (ABFSU), the student organization said in a statement.

 

The ABFSU said the North Okkalapa Military Court sentenced Kaung Satt Paing to a life imprisonment for violations of the Section 505 (A) of the Penal Code for incitement and Section 50 (J) of the Counter-Terrorism Law.

 

The 20 year-old –student leader was arrested on December 1 last year.

 

Another student leader who was sentenced to life imprisonment is Ko Hein Htet, popularly known as Po Po Ko, a vice-chair of No.1 High School of North Okkalapa Township Student Union. He was sentenced on February 9 this year also for violating the country’s anti-terrorism laws.
