Some fuel stations in Mandalay have shut down apparently due to shortage of fuel and a liter of gasoline has jumped to 6000 Kyats (over USD 100), residents said.

 

"Cars have been waiting since 7 a.m. to buy fuel. Small shops opened beside the roads selling  6000 Kyats for a liter," said a resident of Mandalay.

 

Residents of Mandalay, Yangon, Karen, Shan states and other cities have been facing difficulties obtaining gasoline since the junta seized power two years ago and the shortage is getting worse.
