A senior commander of the military's Special Operation Team was among those killed in clashes with the Myanmar National Democracy Alliance Army (MNDAA) in the Kokang Self-administered.

The fighting erupted on December 6 when MNDAA fighters ambushed about 100 military personnel in Shauk Kaing town and killed their leader identified as Aung Zaw Lin, the armed ethnic anti-junta group said.

Those soldiers have been run away from the military outposts in Mawhtike, Chonekan and Konkyan from northern Shan state where the MNDAA has seized control.

It added that the resistance forces also  seized more than 30 military personnel who were abandoned by their colleagues.

In addition, it has arrested at least 11 soldiers during the raid on a military outpost in Kokang Taryin mountain on December 5. Some elder soldiers were injured in the attack.
