Karenni administration to sue five educational personnel from Loikaw University and their families

Five education personnel including the rector and vice-rector of Loikaw University and their family members will be charged in accordance with the law, according to the Interim Executive Council of Karenni State (IEC).

 

The IEC stated said it has banished 193 educational personnel who were not participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (Non-CDM) and didn't connect with the military who were rescued from the Loikaw University by Karenni resistance forces, outside the Karenni state on November 28.

 

After investigations, the Karenni State Police force filed a lawsuit against five Non-CDM education personnel from the university and their families who were suspected of cooperating with the junta. They have been transferred to the respective judiciary department and will be taking action in accordance with the law.

 

Three families who are directly connected with the junta will also take action under military law and have been transferred to military court.

 

A total of 193 education personnel and their families have been forced to sign and admit not to work for the junta, not to make contact with the university and to stand together with the people and banished outside the Karenni state on November 28, according to the statement of IEC.
