A total of 11 civilians were killed and 12 others injured when the junta bombed Namkham town in northern Shan State even when there was no fighting in the area.

 

 

Among the fatalities in the pre-dawn attack on Friday were a young child, a pregnant woman and a whole family, residents said.

 

 

"Everyone was asleep at that time of the attack and there was no time to run,” said a Namkham resident. “We heard there are more casualties near the market and city hall. We don't know how many people were injured or killed but we saw many injured people escorted by the local charity groups."

 

 

The Ta'ang Women Organization (TWO) claimed that some buildings, homes and stores were destroyed or damaged due to the fire caused by the airstrike.
