Myanmar junta loses one border gate, one town and many junta outposts in Northern Shan State.

 

Although the fighting in Kokant Special Region eased following mediation by China, the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) seized Yanlongkeng border gate in Laukkai township a day after the pro-government militias disarmed. MNDAA fighters also seized five border gates including Yanlongkeng and the fighting resumed again.

 

On Tuesday, Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) gained control over Namhkam after battling with junta troops in Thitkone outpost.

TNLA also seized Namhsan, which was a place of Ta'aung Sawbwa.

 

Amnesty International urged investigation for war crimes

 

The Amnesty International asked for the investigation on the alleged war crimes committed by the Myanmar military.

 

The international human rights group claimed that junta forces used cluster bombs, which is prohibited by international law, when they retaliated against the Brotherhood alliance following its offensive in Northern Shan State.

 

After analyzing the photos and videos of arms and equipment, the junta troops attacked Pauktaw, Rakhine by ground, naval and air strikes and used S-5K missiles from Mi-24 Hind helicopters and 40 MM missiles from ships.

 

Human Rights Watch says MNDAA into forced recruitment

 

The Human Rights Watch (HRW) said MNDAA is involuntarily recruiting civilians. In a statement the group said MNDAA has been forcing displaced people from Laukkai and Northern Shan state to join their ranks. 

 

It added forced recruitment is considered a war crime. The HRW urged MNDAA to immediately stop the forced recruitment and called on the organization to protect the civilians.

 

Supreme Court rejects anew State Counselor special appeal

 

The Union Supreme Court rejected the special appeal of State Counselor on the accusation of corruption for allegedly receiving gold and money from the former Yangon chief minister.

 

She has been sentenced to five years imprisonment for accepting 7 visses of gold and USD 6 million from former Yangon chief minister U Phyo Min Thein in 2017 and 2018.

 

Former State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi maintained her innocence during the trial and describe the charges as nonsense.

 

Continuation of U Kyaw Moe Tun as UN representative

 

The United Nations Credentials Committee approved the continuation of U Kyaw Moe Tun as the UN ambassador of Myanmar due to the suspension of new appointment of ambassador in the world body, amid the political turmoil in Myanmar following the February 2021 coup d’ etat. 

 

The UN suspended receiving new appointment of UN Ambassador to Myanmar since last year despite the insistence of junta to appoint its own ambassador to replace U Kyaw Moe Tun.

 

The junta terminated U Kyaw Moe Tun appointment since he expressed support for the National League for Democracy (NLD) and Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) in 2021.

 

NUG sent a letter to UWSP

 

The National Unity Government (NUG) defense ministry said they recognized the political stance of United Wa State Party (UWSP) to collaborate with them in bringing to an end the military dictatorship and help rebuild federal democracy in Myanmar.

 

NUG sent a felicitation to UWSP on its 35th founding anniversary during the celebration took place in Panghkam.

 

The NUG said it is time for all peoples in Myanmar to cooperate and join forces in the fight against the military that cause catastrophe to the state.
