At the beginning of this week, the junta awarded medals to more than 7000 police officer on Sunday. Those police officers were assessed within one year, from 01 October 2022 to 01 October 2023 and were cited for their dedication in the performance of their jobs.

 

The medals include 7 titles of Wunna Kyaw Htin, 1 badge of Ye Thiha, 19 badges of Ye Thura, 36 badges of Ye Bala, 1 badge of Ye Thurein, 5 badges of Ye Kyawthu, 1 Excellent Performance in Social Field( Third class) , 330 Outstanding Police Service Badges , 829 State Police Service Badges, 1,910 Myanmar Police Force Joint Combat Badges, 25 Outstanding Public Service Badges, 57 Public Service Badges and 4,167 Rule of Law and Order Badges.

 

Pre enumeration of census

 

The junta stated the pre enumeration of census starting from 01 to 15 October. "Within that time frame, 20 townships nationwide have been selected and will be collected in 100 set plots," according to a statement released by Ministry of Immigrations and Populations. That is in preparations for the 2024 census enumerations.

 

The junta asked for United Nations Population Fund(UNPF) for continuous support for the nationwide census in 2024. Relying on the household registrations in 2014, the Ministry of Immigrations and Populations estimated that around 56.2 millions of people are living in Myanmar.

 

Military arms broker shot

 

A military arms broker, Nyan Lwin Aung was shot  at the corner of 17th street in downtown Yangon by Urban Owls Yangon guerrilla forces. The group accused the victim as an arms broker for the Defence ministry and cooperated with Ministry of Home affairs in the installation of Facial Recognition CCTV cameras in key cities across the country.

 

"He is in critical condition with injury on his left temple and is being treated at Yangon hospital, military media outlets reported.

 

Six new foreign investments are admitted

 

The chairman of the Myanmar Investment Commission ( MIC) , General Mya Tun Oo, said that as of  02 October, there were six new foreign investments. The investment amount is worth of USD $72.98 million. The investment projects include power and electricity, hotels and tourism sectors. According to the statement released by the MIC, the top foreign investors in Myanmar  are from Singapore, China and Thailand.

 

Indonesia companies trade arms to Myanmar

 

Human rights institutions said in a statement on 03 October that three Indonesian government companies traded arms to Myanmar military. Moreover, they asked the Indonesia government to make further investigations relating to arms trade. They also filed complaint before the Indonesian Human Rights Council.

 

Among the human rights groups that accused Indonesian companies of trading arms to Myanmar junta are the Chin Human Rights Organizations(CHRO), the Myanmar Accountability Project and former Indonesian chief attorney Marzuki Darusman.

 

The companies that allegedly trade arms to the junta are PT Pindad, PT PAL and PT Dirgantara Indonesia, through Myanmar company True North.

 

True North is owned by the son of minister of planning and finance. The companies denied allegations related to arms trade.

 

Around 500 children killed within two years

 

The parallel National Union Government (NUG) stated on 04 October that around 500 children under 18-years-old were killed within the two years of military rule. They were killed by air strikes, heavy artillery and raiding villages.

 

The death of children is considered as one of the war crimes committed by the junta. Moreover, due to the violence posed by junta troops, 119 schools in nationwide were destroyed.
