25 resistance forces killed in Sagaing ambush
A total of 25 anti-junta forces were killed while helping villagers escaped from a military operation in Sagaing Region.
The bodies of the fatalities were recovered near Chayyartaw village in Myinmubto town. Before that incident, the junta released false news that their troops will enter from the north of Kwaytmin village but they ambushed along the way the escaping villagers, along with the members of people defence forces (PDF) who were helping them.
The remains of the victims were cremated on Saturday.
Generals known from corruption were fired
Deputy general U Moe Myint Tun (Army Chief of Staff) and deputy general U Soe Htut who were relocated from the Home Affairs Ministry to the Union Government Office were undergoing interrogation for alleged corruption during the past two weeks.
Deputy general U Moe Myint Tun allegedly accepted bribes while working in Commerce Ministry while deputy general U Soe Htut was being interrogated for complaint letters relating to his corrupt activities.
Both of them were fired from military council on last Tuesday. Deputy general U Soe Htut was fired from the Union Government Office after a month of his relocation.
Their positions were assigned to Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) U Maung Maung Aye and advisor of military leader, deputy general U Nyo Saw.
During the military meeting on Thursday, Chief in Commander Min Aung Hlaing stated he would take actions against those who use their positions and authority to accept bribes.
NLD claimed 97 party members were killed
The most popular political party in Myanmar, National League for Democracy (NLD) reached its 35th anniversary on Wednesday.
In the statement, it said that some 1,769 party members were detained and 97 were killed since the coup more than two years ago.
When junta confiscated the properties of 688 people and 373 of them were the properties of NLD members.
Also some 160 robbery, explosions and burning of party's offices were recorded.
Currently, NLD party is striving for the implementation of federal democracy and the end of the junta by cooperating with local forces and political parties that have no relations with military.
One political prisoner died of heart attack
Ko Min Hein Khant (aka) Arr Kyal in Insein, who was sentenced to 27 years of imprisonment, died of heart attack on Sunday.
Before he died, he was being treated in prison hospital for a week. His family members could cremate his dead body.
Ko Min Hein Khant was the member of Pazundaung-Botahtaung Youth Strike Committee (PBYSC) and he was detained on 01 November 2021. He charged with incitement and violations of the country’s counter-terrorism law.
UNHCR commissioner asked for the assign of Myanmar affairs to ICC
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCR), Volker Turk seeks to file charges against the Myanmar government to the International Criminal Court (ICC) amid the failure of the government to implement the rule of law and amid the decline of the country’s executive and judiciary systems.
He mentioned that referral on UNHCR council held on Tuesday.
He stated Myanmar people are facing terrible attacks and severe violations of human rights as the junta administration drags on
Based on UN news, after the military takeover, 24,836 people were detained, 19,264 people were being detained and around 150 people were sentenced to die by military courts.
Junta said people could travel to China with passport
On Sunday, the junta said Chinese and Myanmar citizens could travel from border state by using passport.
The news was released when thousands of Myanmar citizens are attempting to go to Thailand with temporary passage tickets.
Since they permitted the travel, Myanmar citizens can stay for a week and look for jobs in China. On other hand, Chinese citizens can also move to Myanmar.
After the coup, most of Myanmar citizens are trying to leave Myanmar due to deteriorating economic condition and scarcity of jobs.
China is one of the countries where Myanmar people are opting to relocate.
