Dozens of truck drivers, along with their more than 100 family members have been stuck on Burma-Thailand Asia Trading road in Karen State amid clashes, an are now running out of food.
"It's been 11 days that we have been stuck here. We would not any food after three days. Women and children are also here," said a 30-year-old driver.
Hundreds of trucks have been stuck in Kawkareik and along the Asia road due to the fighting between junta forces and anti-junta resistance fighters which first erupted on December 1.
Currently, the junta forces are trapped in Kawkareik under attack by various resistance groups. Nearly 20,000 residents of Kawkareik have been displaced due to the fighting.
Internet and telecommunication services in the villages from the southern part of the town and some part of Kawkareik town are unavailable at the moment.
