29 people suffer from Ammonia gas leak in Yangon

Around 29 people suffered from ammonia intoxication due to leak from an ice factory in Myanmar’s capital of Yangon, according to the Myanmar Fire Service Department.
The victims from the ammonia gas leak at Ice factory in Oak Kyin Budar Yone street in No.13 ward, Hlaing township were being treated at the nearby hospital.
The gas leak from the factory late Wednesday spread around the area, triggering respiratory problems and eye irritations and ammonia intoxication symptoms among residents in the affected areas.
Fire Service Department personnel sprayed water to clean the area. They also used air purifying devices in order clear the air.
The ammonia gas leak started around 8:30 p.m. and the clean up took about two hours
