News broke out earlier in the week that two senior military generals visited former State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi at least two times at her detention cell in Nay Pyi Taw Prison.

 

The junta's deputy home affairs minister U Soe Htut, Lieutenant-general Yar Pyae who is leading peace process and former lieutenant-general Khin Zaw Oo met with the detained Myanmar democratic icon on 27 May and 04 June, according to three independent media outlets.

 

During that meeting, the three senior junta officials asked for her help in the peace process and also asked her to stop the operations of people's defense forces but Daw Aung San Suu Kyi didn't respond to their requests.

 

This news is true. It shows the military leadership recognized her importance in Myanmar politics. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will turn to 78 years old on Monday.

 

Military helicopter crashed in Nay Pyi Taw

 

A military training helicopter crashed on Thursday in Lewe area in the administrative capital of Nay Pyi Taw..

 

According to the report, the chopper was flying from Nay Pyi Taw to Meikhtila and crashed because of malfunctions. A pilot and one female trainee died in the incident.

 

The military regime has been using the aviation fuel from Russia and China and attacked the villages and regions known as bailiwicks of revolutionary forces.

 

The type of the helicopter that crashed had not been disclosed yet. A similar incident was happened in Sagaing last year.

 

Revocation of Ayeyarwaddy Times' media license

 

The junta outlet newspaper announced the revocation of the Ayeyarwaddy Times’ media license for allegedly breaching state security regulations, violating the rule of law and disturbing the peaceful state of people.

 

Ayeyarwaddy Times was founded in 2016 as an online media based in Ayeyarwaddy. After the military takeover, the junta revoked the licenses of at least 14 media outlets and detained more than 150 news reporters and killed four of them. Currently, around 50 journalists were being detained.

 

Sean Turnell named special advisor of NUG interim central bank

 

Sean Turnell was appointed as a special advisor to (National Unity Government) NUG interim central bank, the NUG said in a statement on Tuesday.

 

He was the former economic advisor under NLD government and was arrested shortly after the military seized power in February 2021. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment but after two years in jail he was released on 17 November 2022 as part of the junta’s amnesty proclamation.

 

The NUG finance minister said in RFA interview that Turnell is capable of cutting off junta's income, getting the foreign reserved money in US and other countries and implementing the tasks of the NUG's central bank.

 

Establishment of Karenni Interim government

 

Since the clashes have been intensified in Karenni State against the junta troops, the Interim Executive Council of Karenni State (IEC) was established on Monday.

 

Its purpose is to implement the local government unit and cooperate with all the democratic forces in Karenni. Moreover, the IEC will work together with CRPH, NUCC and NUG in restoring democracy not only in Karenni State but also throughout Myanmar.

 

The junta pressures owners of rented house and hostels

 

The junta claimed on Tuesday that the owners of the flats and houses who failed to provide personal information about the renters and register their guests would be sued and imprisoned.

 

The people who committed the attacks against junta forces and their collaborators allegedly stay at the flats and hostels to avoid being traced.

 

The houses and flats they stayed would be confiscated and the owners would be imprisoned, to a junta statement.
