The North Okkalapa Township Court on April 29 sentenced to death a student who is in charge of the ground operation of North Okkalapa Township Students' Union of All Burma Federation of Student Union (ABFSU).

 

Kaung Satt Paing, who already received a life sentence on March 22 for incitement, was handed down the death sentence after he was found guilty of violating Section 50 (I) and 49 (A) of the Counter-Terrorism Law.

 

The regime forces arrested the 20-year-old Kaung Satt Paing in Yangon on December 1, 2022.

 

ABFSU strongly condemned the one-sided trial and urged resistance forces to condemn the death sentences against political prisoners.

 

On February 9, another student leader; Hein Htet, popularly known as Po Po, vice-chairman of No.1 High School of North Okkalapa Students' Union was handed down a life sentence by a military court.
